2 weeks ago, on 11th April, Orchard Road was transformed into a runway for Samsung Fashion Steps Out (FSO) with a total of 176 models strutting down the iconic road for the annual fashion event, wearing the latest designs from 13 brands:

Aimer, Ashley Isham, Pleatation, Depression, FOX Kids, Francis Cheong, Germain, Mary Katrantzou, Moiselle, Max.Tan, Pauline.Ning, Paul, and Sean & Sheila!

It was my first time attending FSO and I've got to say that it's an interesting night. I even spotted a handful of my friends cat-walking down the runway, and the best part of it all was that I got the privilege to sit right up close to the whole fashion galore as an Ambassador of Clozette! It was even more enjoyable because I sat with Jerlene of MusicalHouse and we were having heaps of laugh throughout the whole thing, she was even super sweet to help me snap photos!

That being said, a heads up here~

Samsung Fashion Steps Out After Party

After the fashion show, it was time for more alcohol and mingling!
We also made use of the time and voucher in our goodie bag to get some nice treats!

Personally, I spent mine on sweets and tea!
Hahahaha~ What can I say...

2 weeks ago, Clozette held a party for its Clozette's Ambassadors and Star Clozetters! The dress code and theme of the party was KPop! I love parties with themes, it's a great reason to dress up and be a little different.

Kudos to Clozette to pairing the party with Korean inspired yummies!

And for arranging a range of exciting booths for us, from photobooth to manicure with The Nail Society and even (drum roll) Laneige makeup!

I was super excited to see the whole range of Laneige Two Tone Lip Bar! Cheryl from BeautifulBuns posted a sneak from Laneige's media event in January and I was eyeing on these babies because I have the hardest time trying to achieve the popular Korean Makeup technique, the gradient lips! I always end up looking like I'm sick and dying or just plain weird...

Aren't these the cutest?!? It slides up and down with a flick of your thumb and all you have to do is to apply it along the lips like you do with any other lipstick! It creates the gradient naturally on its own with its two tone pigment bar. I was told that these will be released in March and SG$34 each!!!

Here are the swatches of 9 shades, I didn't realise that I missed out No. 01 until after I went back home :( But aren't the shades lovely! It's very pigmented and goes so smoothly that it hardly creates any harsh lines!

I have on my lips, No. 9 and you may also notice that there's a hint of colour towards the lighter tone to help define the lips more than if you were to create a gradient lip on your own with concealer and lipstick!

here's my take on the first look:

Hot Date

When it comes to dating, I would like to be comfortable in how I look and what I wear.

Studies have been done to show what type of makeup men prefer their dates to turn up with, but to be honest, the results from different studies varies.

Some like it au naturel, some like "no makeup" makeup, some like it sultry, some like it full on.

But if you ask me, I think we should put on whatever we like and feel comfortable in.

I like the bare minimum for face, a hint of blush for colour, a sultry eye and dewy lips for dates.

Why?

Because, at the end of the day, sooner or later~

My bare face is what he might wake up to and so let's keep things realistic.

Haha!

I was fortunate enough to meet Korean Makeup Artist, Steven Lee, to learn a few tricks from him at the Laneige Magic Charm Workshop 2 weeks back at Suntec.

A quick shoutout:

Look how cute this chair is! It really does open and close like the BB Cushion Product!

As you know, Korean makeup is trending at the moment and they are good at the bare minimalist to the extreme funky look. So, I am really glad to be selected by Clozette to join this workshop!

Recently, I got to attend a private reception with 16 UK fashion brands hosted by Deputy High Commissioner, Ms Judith Slater, as one of Clozette Ambassados.

It was an evening full of introductions and conversations, networking and just mingling with people to learn more about their products and brands~

Out of the 16 brands, these are the few that caught my interest!

Bottletop

This was the first brand I was introduced to moments after speaking to International Trade Adviser, Steven Hope. I was telling him about my blog and my goals of writing more about sustainable fashion in the near future. 

And he replied me "Oh, then you have to meet Oliver from Bottletop!"

So, I was introduced to the Director of Bottletop, Oliver Wayman, and I am really glad for the opportunity!

Bottletop not only uses sustainable and recycled materials, even the manufacturing process is sustainable because, Bottletop's products are created by artisans in Brazil who have been trained by Bottletop (a charitable foundation), launched in 2002 that works to support health education in Africa, Brazil, and the United Kingdom!

Piers Atkinson

I had the honor to meet Piers Atkinson, in person, and he is totally awesome! I nicknamed him the "Mad Hatter" and he was in total agreement!

Why? Because, he designs and creates hats & headpieces!

Jewellery by Jianhui

I chanced upon this collection on display, and I am glad that I stopped to read more about it.

Jianhui London uses recycled materials to create their jewellery and I love that this brand holds an ambition that is "ethical by design and sustainable by nature"!

Meli Melo

I had to mention this brand because, I love the idea of the base of some of the bags in their collection!

I have the horrible habit of leaving my bags on the ground (when I work), and I find that over time, the base of my bag gets damaged!

So, the concept of a base like this bag by Meli Melo attracted me~

I find that it makes the bag looks a little bit more unique and a lot more practical...

But it's just my opinion.

It was such a good event, meeting new people is always nice and I love that all of them are so passionate about their products and brands!

I really hope to see them in Singapore soon!
