It's that time again for new clothes and there is a perfectly good reason for doing so too!
Lunar New Year is approaching and the chinese believe in the importance of having new things to usher the new year!
So with that being said, I have compiled 3 Inspiration for your Chinese New Year OOTD:
Traditional
From In The Mood For Love |
Nothing screams Chinese New Year like a good cheongsam and after watching a series of movies that features actresses in them, it's not hard to feel invested in getting one myself.

Stand Collar Lace Bodycon Dress - Zalora
Floral Foil Print Sheath Dress - Zalora
Lace Pieced Sheath Dress - Zalora
Start the Chinese New Year with the hues of red or choose something a little unconventional by playing around with colours. Put on this figure-flattering dress and pair it with a clutch and pumps to usher in the first day of the Lunar New Year while keeping it traditionally chic.
Classy
The second inspiration is from About Time, I really love her wedding dress. haha! It's red and really classy with the right amount of skin showing.
From Left to Right:
Slit Sleeve Dress - Zalora
Lace Pieced Sheath Dress - Zalora
Jacquard Bustier Dress - Zalora
Three different types of style that shows off the right amount of skin in different ways; the first shows off the arms, the second shows off the legs and skin in peeks, and the third shows off the collar bone and décolleté.
Modern

The final inspiration isn't from a movie but it's from what's been trending for awhile now, and cropped top, culottes and romper are all the rage so why not consider them for CNY'16!
From Left to Right:
One Shoulder Frill Crop Top - Something Borrowed
Textured Midi Skirt - Something Borrowed
Mix Floral Off Shoulder Romper - Zalora
Floral Crop Top - Zalora
Pleated Cullotes - Zalora
My tip for acing the cropped top look is to pair it with something high waisted so that it's more forgiving to the little bump that will appear as you stuff your face with CNY goodies! And you can also opt for a romper with layering to help you hide the food belly for the season, it shall be our little secret!
