Bioderma: The Ideal Skincare Regimen for Sensitive Skin? [Sponsored Review]

Hi, ladies!
I've got an interesting brand to review this month and I'm excited because it's one of the first few brands that I tested when I started realising that the best way to care for my skin was to treat it with care, especially when I realised that my breakouts were linked to how sensitive my skin is (due to over-cleansing when I was young/ chemical peels during my acne days & harsh ingredients in commercial skincare products). The brand is none other than Bioderma!

Bioderma Sensibio H2O

Known for being the first non-rinse cleansing solution using Micelle Technology (Micellar Water), Bioderma Sensibio H2O has been recommended by dermatologists, adored by makeup artists and loved by millions of people around the world since its launch. Made of highly purified water, the highest grade of pharmaceutical water, Bioderma's Sensibio H2O is completely free of impurities and irritants which make it a clear choice for sensitive skin.

TO USE:
Soak a cotton pad with Sensibio H2O.
Gently cleanse and/or remove make-up from your face and eyes.
Re-apply until the cotton pad becomes clean.
Lightly dab your face with a clean cotton towel.

Texture: Liquid-based

Ingredients:
Water (Aqua), Peg-6 Caprylic/capric Glycerides, Cucumis Sativus (cucumber) Fruit Extract, Mannitol, Xylitol, Rhamnose, Fructooligosaccharides, Propylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Cetrimonium Bromide

Cost: $15.90 for 100ml, $28.90 for 250ml, $41.90 for 500ml

Left: Foundation, eyeshadows, blush, liquid eyeliner, gel eyeliner, and mascara; Middle: Foundation, mascara & a little of gel eyeliner left after 3 wipes; Right: All removed after 16 wipes.
Product Rating: 7/10
This works well for removing powder based makeup like pressed powder, blush and eyeshadows but it doesn't work as effectively on tougher makeup like foundation, gel eyeliner, and waterproof mascara. I had to utilise the texture of the cotton pad to help me remove all three. So my conclusion is that this is only great if you are a light makeup user or for days when you have no makeup on and you would like to end your day with a quick effective cleansing of the skin without having to go to the sink to wash anything off.

Bioderma Sensibio Gel Moussant

This mild cleansing gel cleanses while hydrating and soothing sensitive skin. Enriched with skin conditioning ingredients such as coco-glucoside and glyceryl oleate, it also has lipid-restoring and moisturising properties.

TO USE:
Apply on wet skin and work into a foam.
Rinse well and gently dry.
Suitable for day and night use on both face and eyes.
Can be used alone or part of a double cleansing routine after Sensibio H2O.

Texture: Gel-based that foams up

Ingredients:
Aqua/water/eau, sodium cocoamphoacetate, propanediol, sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, citric acid, coco-glucoside, glyceryl oleate, sodium citrate, PEG-90 glyceryl isostearate, mannitol, xylitol, laureth-2, rhamnose, fructooligosaccharides, tocopherol, hydrogenated palm glycerides citrate, lecithin, ascorbyl palmitate.

Cost: $39.90 for 200ml

Product Rating: 9/10
I like how gentle this cleanser is, and how it doesn't leave my skin feeling tight after use. I use this as part of my double cleanse routine every night and so far, my skin seems to love it!

Bioderma Sensibio Dermatological Water

Using highly purified water that is enhanced by a perfect balance of mineral salts and oligo-elements, the Bioderma Sensibio Dermatological Water soothes skin while maintaining healthy skin cells. A remarkable ally for sensitive skin, it combats various skin reactive signs. Soothing agents such as mannitol, rhamnose and zinc also provide quick and lasting relief to sensitive skin.

TO USE:
Use it as often as desired to freshen up skin or to remove the balance of mask left behind on face.
Spray a fine mist onto your skin as often as needed.
No need to pat dry.

Texture: Liquid-based

Ingredients:
Aqua/water/eau, zinc sulfate, mannitol, xylitol, rhamnose, fructooligosaccharides, potassium phosphate, magnesium sulfate, sodium citrate, clacium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, sodium chloride, citric acid, disodium phosphate, potassium chloride, nitrogen. [BI 472]

Cost: $19.90 for 150ml

Product Rating: 10/10
I love this! This works great on my skin to freshen up the skin after wash, during the day and even when my skin feels like it needs some moisture. The best part is that it really works in calming down my skin when it reacts to a dusty environment!

WHERE TO GET THEM?

The Sample Store: Biore Aqua Jelly Makeup Remover [Sponsored Review]

Hi ladies, I'm back with more product reviews!
I'm sorry if I haven't been updating regularly... Work has been never-ending.
This is the first Sunday in a while that I can stay home and finish all my posts!
I was already feeling like it doesn't matter what day it is anymore because I'm always working.

Anyway, without further ado~
Here's my review of Biore Aqua Jelly Makeup Remover – the first makeup remover in jelly format.

The smooth serum –like texture spreads easily to remove makeup even waterproof mascara with less tugging and helps to cushion the skin from an otherwise harsh cleansing motion. Contains 40% moisturising essence, Aqua Jelly makeup remover nourishes and hydrates skin for a moist and dewy finish. Removing makeup has never been so easy.

How To Use:

Pump an appropriate amount (2-3 pumps) onto hands and spread evenly over face and eye area.
Massage gently to dissolve makeup.
Rinse thoroughly with water. It is not necessary to remove cleansing liquid with cotton pad or tissue. For best results, apply on dry face and hands. Do not use facial cotton pad or tissue.

Doesn't emulsify
Texture: A mix between gel & oil rather than jelly, does not emulsify when mixed with water like other oil cleanser.

Smell: Floral scent

I think it works pretty well at removing normal makeup only. For stubborn waterproof & smudge-proof makeup, I find that I need to repeat the process.

I did a little test to illustrate this on my hand with a waterproof mascara, waterproof and smudge-proof eyeliner and BB cream. For the both process, I focused on the top half of my hand and washed away with warm water. I only managed to successfully remove everything after the second wash.

I do agree that the formulation does minimize tugging and that there are no greasy after-feel once it's washed off.

But based on the ingredient used, there is a slight chance that it might cause clogged pores with repeated use and improper cleansing after use so please do wash this off properly and double cleanse after!
